Relationship Chess

Fear creates an incentive to give away power — power we need to be honest with others, power we need to be honest with ourselves. During my time in The World Of Infatuation, I was drawn into relationships so deeply that walking away was simply not an option. At the same time, fear led me to employ tactics designed to prevent my mate from walking away. Fear impacted my ability to resolve conflict constructively. In hindsight, it was fear that led my mate and me to argue in ways that felt like chess matches.
